The Vinegar Egg Experiment
This egg experiment is fun. I learned that you can soak it in vinegar for 6 days but if you soak it too long, it becomes a stink egg or a stink bomb. This becomes effective when you want to clear the house but just make sure you’re not in it!
It’s probably best that you soak it for 2 to 4 days or until the shell has dissolved.
Now what we all have been waiting for. Drum roll please. The vinegar dissolves the egg shell, which then leaves a thin rubbery layer that becomes the outer shell. It now bounces like a football.
I tested both a turkey and chicken egg. The turkey egg had a much larger and harder shell but I got the same results.
