with Shae's bedroom complete, it's time
to move on to the earthbag kitchen and
bathroom addition to the main house

[dramatic music]
I'm super excited about this kitchen
everybody's been so kind not to mention
how ugly this wall is and I cannot tell
you how excited I am to see it come down
it's still not gonna come down for a
little while because we obviously got to
do this first
[music]
Gary's got those headers up and I am -
I just - I'm just super excited
when we
first started this process of building
this room here on this edge of the house
we were doing earthbags for the
first time and we stuck the outlet right
here on the outside like this
so crazy
like
so I've got some fixing I gotta do
we're gonna go ahead and bury
that back inside
we changed our mind
when we did the wall, it wasn't straight
across, we bowed the wall out and in
doing so, the plumbing that I had
originally put in is now too far into
the room so we do need to move the toilet
flange it's proper distance from the
wall
[drum music]
goes over the top of that beam so
we can hang the chair from it
did you
cut it right?
is that the right width?
don't question my genius
besides that, Garen approved it
[music]
come in
how you doing in here?
so dad welded together this really
awesome hook here and probably one
of the coolest things about it is that
we can move it around if I wanted
to move it over here or wherever I
wanted it
you can just pick it
up
it is a little heavy
and actually everything on this chair
comes apart
this thing here comes off
the cushion comes off so that if we ever
wanted to replace the color scheme then
that's possible
[music]
when you walk in from our courtyard, you
come into our family room here and this
was done a while back
you might remember these pallet ceilings
that we did
this is actually made out of
earth bags which dad will be talking
about that at a later date
our focus is
going to be right over here
into this little mystery door
what lies behind it
use your imagination
this is going to be
a bathroom
second bathroom
take everything out
of here including the cat
okay let's do

digging the trench to lay the first bags

thinking what I'll do is I'll half
fill the bags so the bag will
hit here and it'll be half filled around
this and continue on

cousins kid is you're also your first
cousin but once removed
I'm glad you
made that simple for us
well it is not
simple that's why I had to look it up
have we introduced your name Ashley?

we'll just keep repeating it
until we're sure

but what happens if we get a landline
again they goodbye to the good old days
what busted right there perfect
perfection you set a precedent oh yeah I
set it standard yeah high standard it's
never enough for you bullet never enough
well if the experience Ashley 10 absent
then we do it again yeah tomorrow
