Soil Cement Upper Floor & Sheetrock Mud Walls
We are able to finish the dirty work of installing the last of the soil cement floor! We try some new methods for the walls that is working very well. Check out the progress and join us as we meet up with some friends!

last week we took another crack at
smoothing out the walls and finished up
the patio roof on Shae's earthbag
bedroom

Shay heads to the scrap pile
to look to see if she can find
anything to make for her room
this thing is cool but I don't really know what I
would do with it you know
basically all
this stuff is - it's cool but not really
sure about any of it
I did find this
little microwave top that looked kind of
like a cool bedside table or a tabletop
it's like two big circles
I don't think I like that
it looks like an hourglass
a not fun hourglass
do you think that would work as a paint brush holder
I
like this piece of fencing but the only
thing I can think of is to do like a
headboard
and secondly
you've ever seen
these big playground
last week me and
Bryson made the frame for the hanging
chair and now this week I'm making the
pad for it and I'm also gonna make
a tent to go around it so that's
what I'm in the middle of doing right
now

doing a soil cement floor!
in the upper section this time

I'm gonna cut the bags between the seams
and then try to blend the seams in with
the
the floor here for this wall
pull
back a little bit you know
and stir this
up into it and then bury this bag in the
wall

it's so dusty
dust is flying everywhere
I regularly dust my hair
I dust dry it

Bryson 3d printed me this really cool
time capsule thing and we thought that
we would put this in the floor of my
building so we got a couple little
things that will actually fit in this
little container because there's not a
lot of space
a little emoji pillow
we got these ideas from a live podcast
that we did a few months back
and that
takes up most of this space
a couple more little things here
a My Little Homestead stick card which has our
YouTube channel, Twitter, Facebook /
our website
a USB Drive that has some
pictures and a little video of our
Christmas card
put it right there
it has a special little place on the
pillow
and then here are some of the
building plans

this is a lot of paper to
fold
all of them
we can do it

should we take out some of these pages
it will work
look at that
that is perfect
we're putting a clear enamel coating on
it because PLA is made from natural
materials just as extra protection

the more you put on there, the longer it will last
I was thinking coat
like a coat
will it stick?
I don't know but that is going to take a long time to dry

it will be dirt coated too

Stephen & Donnia invited us down to
the car show again this year and it was
really fun
meeting our friends at the
barrett-jackson car auction
that was a blast
lots of great cars, good friends

It was easily though my favorite,
favorite car there
was really amazing
it was done really well
it was also one
hundred and eighty thousand dollars
just put that on the list

I think the best car that I saw there
was the VW bug with a little trailer
pretty cool
I like pretty much all the Volkswagon
Beetles
a lot of those cars are really cool
I want to take my bug and turn
it into a Baja
it's what I'm saving up for

she sees her little VW

I was running around and
looking at all the VW vans because they
were beautiful
they look like they could
be converted into like a really cute
small house which would be
house on wheels

one of the really unique things about
the barrett-jackson is that they have a
lot of cars they're gonna auction off but
these are cars are really unusual and
the creativity put into them and the
craftsmanship is just incredible
I'm wanna road trip in this thing mom
you can base the movie around the car so
you pick one, like this and then think of
a story
I would like to watch a movie about people living out of their cars
my favorite vehicles at the car show
were these little itty-bitty Italian - I
think they were Italian - little
itty-bitty Italian cars
it's a little
lady bug Mom
it needs a bunch of little
dots
this is your kind of car Bree
definitely my kind of car
look how close the tires are
you couldn't go very fast in that thing you think?

we just spent the day looking at cars
and creativity in every size shape and
form

take the edge of it like this and
just kind of wipe it
then let it set
for a little bit
beautiful
we really try
to think of things outside the box when
we work around here
long arm strokes like this
this nice - look this wall

beautiful
we like to use those building
materials which are traditional as well
as those which are alternative
this is going to be so much fun to paint on
sponge it so all those holes will go
away

attempting to remove the tape on it
