The New Website

New Look and Feel
Look at the shinny truck. Feel the leather interior. Smell the new truck smell. I need a new truck. Yes. Sign me up…. No. Please wake me up. We did not get a new truck but it was fun to dream a little. Instead, the website team has a new look and feel for the website. What a process. Garen has learned and applied his new web mastering skills and I admire him.

There is a ton of information on the internet about new widgets for websites. There are cool ways to display images that carousel in an oval and you can select the article you want to read. Colors, gradients, reflections, and mondo graphics: the list is forever. However, we found our homestead followers like things simple and to the point. Therefore, we have incorporated the latest features in technology and innovation for access, speed and usefulness. However, you may be more familiar with our down to earth family style. I promise we will be “real” and funny at times.

We leaped into the design process. I had to resist the bells and whistles (I am a techno nerd at heart). It was our goal to find a look and feel that would provide you the best experience. We wanted your time with us to be informative, useful and efficient.

Here is what can you expect from the redesigned website.

New Features
We have incorporated an ongoing blog with stories related to homesteading. There will be articles written by guest writers with experience in gardening, livestock and alternative building methods. And coming soon, you will have a chance to comment on your favorite topics or add new information.

We have several homesteading videos in the hopper ready to be developed. Stay tuned for new videos coming regularly.

We have incorporated a new Google search tool. This will enable you to search topics within the website along with typical web content.

In Version 2 of the redesign, there will be an opportunity for you to join the growing list of folks who request an email newsletter. In addition, there is a plan for the website to host Partners. You may have a product or service related to homesteading or mini farming that can be associated with MyLittleHomestead.
