Transcript of Video

Bree: In the previous episode, we began installing the frame for the top floor on the underground earth bag
MusArt Studio. Our goal is to finish the floor this week, so the guys continue installing the floor joist.
Gary: 4,5 6,7
Bryson: 4,5,6,7
Gary: We will block it up so that they can walk on it. What we will be doing now is starting putting blocks against the wall and we are going to just back nail those in.
Shae: While Bryson and Dad are filling in the sections on the floor, us gals are bagging between the joist.
Bree: We were asked if if the girls use power tools. I use power tools.
Gary: Keep it flush, it can’t stick up. If it does that means there is a bump in the floor.
Bree: That is a hack job.
Shae: The bags are like adobe bricks but with nails in-between them to support the floor. I think I might have put too much in here.
Gary: It’s colder in here now.
Bree: I know.
Shelly: Diesel. What are you doing? Can you get out? Are you stuck? Are you trapped? There you go.
Bree: Hang on. It’s like wrapped around my leg 3 times.
Gary: And you call yourself safe. You are scary.
Bree: And that is why we don’t show us using power tools.
Gary: We were going to go with 3 bags. But I think 2 work better. And then we will put some spray foam on the top just to seal it.
Bryson: If I was done, I would be done. I’m not done. Hang on. That was done. You didn’t get that on video did you?
Shelly: Ahh..No.
Bryson: Good, I did’t want anyone to see that.
Gary: We could do a couple of these before it gets dark. All the way to the wall.
Bryson: Ok. What we are doing now is we are going to take these 8 footers and we are going to run them out over the stairwell and cantilever them out. And essentially run them out.
Bree and Shae: We are going to party…
Gary: Hi Buddy.
Shae: We’re concerned that the studio get too cold or too hot depending on the season. And we are trying to find a way to get some air from up here down into the studio.
Bryson: Wow Mom. What are you doing?
Shelly: There’s going to be a heat register here that will be pulling the heat into here. A 6 inch duct will comes here And then it will hook up the push air into the basement. So I am just making a little divot so we can out the pipe through. Right through here. A couple down, we will put in another one.
Shae: We want to put some fans in so that we can get the air moving. They only sell one way fans so we need to figure out what to do with that. And we are not sure we are going to use that yet. My idea was to have 2 fans. One that goes one way and one that goes the other. Bryson idea was to work with the electronics so he could rewire it to make the fan go both ways. If you have any ideas, be sure to put them in the comments Because we have not made a decision yet.
Bree: Ok. Here is our idea for getting natural light down into the basement here, We thought about doing the pipe goes through the wall and to the outside and goes through a mason jar there. And it kind of refracts the light. And about 15 feet up connected a pipe, of some kind to link of refract. And then another one about ummm, maybe to here about 8 to 10 foot. we will another one. We need to find some sort of tube that is going to reflect that light. SO, if can think of anything please let us know.
Bryson: Alight so, we are going to test out the theory of the exhaust pipe now. The inside of this is not very reflective so I don’t know if this is going to work or not. I’ll just put that at the end there.
See any light at the end of the tunnel?
Shelly: Oh yeah, I do. I actually do. I’ll go get another jar.
Bryson: This is actually in our rocket stove so. I don’t know, did it work? Maybe a little bit of light.
If we start spanning 8 feet we’re going to have to really find a way to make the light reflective.
Like at the corners because this is where the main loss of light would be, we could put like mirrors or something.
Shelly: Yeah, like something like that.
Headlights. Headlights take a small little bulb and shine out that far.
Let’s say we get a couple of magnifying glasses and we put them at the end. So we reflect it into a circle, we go across to the edge and then have another magnifying glass to expand it back out again. Beam it over.
Beam it over. Beam me up Scottie. We need a tele-porter…
We’re going to block the center in.
We’re selecting our posts now for our stair railing.
Does this look like a great post? I mean it has some memories too. It’s from our tire swing.
Oh yeah! Kinda excited to do a Mesquite stair rail.
Stay tuned for next time when we install the hand rails for the stairs and continue building on the earthbag Mus-Art Studio.
Starting this year, we are going to be responding to comments using our own youtube channels. Winter_Apple is Shae, ScienceMadeFunner is Bryson, MrOffAndOn is Garen, Slow_Silver is me, and Mom and Dad will use the regular MyLittleHomestead account.
Shelly will be the smiley face.
Bree: She usually puts a little smiley face at the end.
Gary: And I do the put, put, put …put
Thanks for watching and have a great week
All: Thank-You!
Shae: Please consider supporting us on Patreon.
[Goat Sound]
Bryson: This is just a light on one end so this would be like outside light.
This is just a Christmas tree but it has fiberoptics inside of it so if we put one end down, it automatically transports the lights to the little ends. Probably extremely expensive but let’s say we got a bunch of these, it creates a light.
Bree: Find something more quiet 'cause we’re working here. No, I don’t have it. Go. No you can’t. I don’t have it. [dog barks once]
Shae: Our family moved from the city to the country. Thanks for taking part in our adventure.
We have new videos every Friday evening. If you’d like to help us out, you can like this video, share it, subscribe or support us on Patreon. See the links in the description.
Bree: Back when I had hair. I’m just imaging it. It matched my eyes. I probably would of worn it.
Gary: I’m a winter…I’m a winter.
Bree: I’m a winter. I think I probably would have worn it. The gal on Leverage they put her in heels and she is running around the poor gal.
Gary: She’s alright. You done yet?
Bree: I’m trying. this is challenge.
Gary: I do those. Stuttering
Bree: And then…
Gary: Or Winter-Apple is Shae.
Bree: Now I am confused.
Bree: Mr off and on is Garen.
Gary: I’m suppose to say Mr off and on? I Got it here we go… And Mr off and on will be Garen.
Bree: Ok then… That is so weird. Mr off and on will be Garen. Let’s try that again. do you want to try that….
Gary: Sorry about that.
Bree: I’m going to out way you…
