in the previous episode we installed the
cabinets in the underground, earthbag
MusArt studio
[music]
us gals begin cobbing the stairwell
which is going to take several
days at an hour a day
[music]
and that's when I discover
something we hid from you last time
we didn't show it because it's a secret
but now it's not a secret anymore
hey will I fit in there?
yeah
don't fall down to the third floor
Yikes!
in those old movies when they open up the
shutters and they start yelling or something
she's very organized the way she sweeps each step
Don't judge me
I love the way you sweep
it's very awesome
it's so sweepy
at least I'm cleaning
you are working
have a very sweeping personality
getting ready to cobbarooney
my strategically
placed bucket
we have empty space under the stairs
you can name that Harry Potter's room
it looks like something from Hogwarts

Bry and I went out to disassemble our self-water containers
move the blackberries back
by the animal area
they're the ones that run off of the rain barrels
and we put them in about five years ago
we took the blackberries and we moved them to the chicken area
I made a little chicken spot so when they
grow out the chicken's can eat
the blackberries
and now we're disassembling
the strawberry
this is actually still working
you can see the strawberries are still popping up
needs to be weeded obviously
it's interesting how the strawberries
five years later
they're still growing
yeah it's amazing really
we turn that water off so they don't get
water through the winter
and we turn it back on in the Spring
I think that helps because otherwise they get root
rot with sitting in water all the time
so now what we're going to do with these
self water containers is
we're going to use them for seasonal
vegetables so when the monsoons come and
start filling up these barrels again
that's when we'll plant
in there

that's so cool
amazing how well the strawberries grew in the ground

the blackberry one
that one stopped working
but the strawberry one works
look at those roots
they were tough to pull
I feel so bad ripping pull the roots
these things are gonna die

Diesel is pulling weeds

will move those underneath your grape plants
that would be awesome
to have them by my house
strawberries and grapes
that's two fruits I really like
homegrown that is
I added some water to
the barrel because that is a self-watering container that we've built
we'll have links in the description
to the self watering grapes
and the self watering strawberries
if you want to go take a look at that
it's still out there - still works
a more recent one is the one on my
building

we're trying to get our railing in
for our stairwell

we're hoping to get it done
we wanted to get that all done on Tuesday
so we have time to paint and stain
and you we're going to make it?
and she responds with that she's going to try
try implies that you feel like there's
like you're not going to be able to do it
you want to go in confident
You said don't ever use the word try
that would be different
the way you presented it was - don't ever try
because that's how
it came out of her mouth
when she you presented it

try gives you a way out
so why is it that when we get
ready to go out and work in the morning
you say all right guys we're going to try
and finish the cobbing today
ooooh ouchy
[laughter]

look at this beautiful

he says, oh no that's great I'd of put wheels on it
he said he would have
put a rolling chair on top of a piece of
board
and the board was balanced on a
ladder that was on a step stool
so I had no help there
but when she was up on the
ladder I was singing the song from
Disney's Tangled
We were just joking about it
Mother knows best. Listen to your mumsey [singing]
Out there you won't survive
and then, we're cobbing away
and what happens?
major crash
I fell
and you know
being the good mom that I was
I rushed over to her side and
made sure she was okay
She rushes over it, leans over my shoulder and goes
mother knows best [singing]
I'm like seriously
I still had the song in my head
I made sure you were okay first
because you thought
my ankle was broken shortly after
you said it was okay at the moment
and you said when you were gonna walk
you were gonna try
she's not getting my try
no I get it
It's just not funny
my elbows
scratches
there's a bruise on my back
bruise on my knee
and bruise on the ankle
what did we learn?
just kidding
you know they say, okay what did we learn
yeah but look how tuff your are
you know most people go to their mom's for sympathy but in this
household you go to dad for sympathy
sorry Hun, that's true
is okay
toughen up
