Tying Up Loose Ends
This week we tidied up a bunch of little details in my room. The floor is looking geat! We have completed all the linseed oil coats and it will soon be ready to move in!

last week we installed the upstairs
patio railing for Shae's earthbag
bedroom

after nearly two weeks, the
earthen floor is dry and ready for
linseed oil
and so it begins
yep
Shae, we should get you a pole for that so you don't need to lean down
ya, we should

we use like a whisk broom to sweep up
not a regular broom and then Shae will be real
careful with her feet
it's okay to have
a few mars but we try to keep it to a
minimum
[music]
I don't think I have ever put on the first coat
isn't it fun?
yeah it is
it uses the most - the
first one, it'll use half that
bucket
all the coats after that take
less and less
aren't you going to do that
far end first?
she's gonna trap herself in
she learned that from me
how many coats did you get on it?
three on that one
this is the second coat
put some more on tomorrow huh?
yep yep yep
Gizzy wants in but we have a trap to keep him
out
yes we're trapping you out because

the really cool thing
about the next couple projects where
we're gonna be working on
one thing we haven't really tackled yet is plumbing
inside of these buildings so it's gonna
be a lot of fun to see how that works
out
they're gonna be doing sinks and
showers in the bathroom and in the
kitchen - I mean the kitchens not gonna
have shower but we'll have a sink and
then also - we're gonna be putting in
things like round countertops and it's
just gonna be a lot of fun to go through
that learning process of that and I
really think we got some pretty cool
stuff planned so stay tuned

mud I just
get all the paint spills off of this and
we're gonna stain it put a finishing
touch on it it's a crying stain we have
to pick up the paint Susan Lee the cow
conspiracy and Amy Davis suggested that
we put on a clear coating on these
stairs on the wood here to help preserve
them and we are definitely gonna do that
thank you so much for your suggestion
it is really gonna help us out we're
always a little worried about wood here
in the desert because it you just really
some really throw actors on them so we
were so excited to see those suggestion
comes through so thank you so much and
we're gonna go ahead and hop to that
right now
hey what y'all up to nothing sitting on
the fifth layer is equivalency love
fifth coat love it I love the shoes
shoes are a new fashion statement for
anyone working on earth bags they're all
the trends you really you really have
that fashion in the bag it's gonna be
good
the price is gonna put the line at floor
and on that to solve that little issue
there okay we talked a little bit this
whole thing that's of the same like this
yeah yeah so dad said when you have
greens you guys love carpet if you put
that staple long ways with the grain
instead of like the dough breaking from
that corner it's pretty intense
I would be able to do it but it's just
like when you can't physically fit in
something anyway I'll get it so that's
it that should be it the feeling Darren
is out here fixing up the Suzuki
we're always only amazed at how he
organizes all the parts and it has to be
hundred parts are better here and he
knows where they all go that's even more
amazing he was gonna replace the timing
chain and then he got down and he says
why don't I just take the heads off it's
got two hundred thousand miles on it so
he's it's time
I'm just always impressed of the puzzle
and the maze of parts that he has out
here when it's time to tear one of these
cars down and how willing he is to to
fix our vehicles I'm so thankful and
it's just amazing a testament to what a
person can learn on YouTube he's learned
everything that way
so do you see this table of course you
see this table this is all the things
that we want to get out these messages
right that's right here this is all of
our ruse ends that we wish to all our
$5.00 door frames and comes weather
stripping the whole oh this beam up here
right here for now
do it let's do it I really liked was to
give it a finish yeah I like the ones
that we're doing here it'll look
finished you know he's always just kind
of look a little unfinished we have an
alternative interest you know you're a
redneck
because I really like the look of this
maybe just do like a small out of thing
yeah like a big cement step or even a
circle the half circle pour inches down
just a good top of that threshold is the
step quarter it's good it's two feet
four inches to the bottom of this is
gonna be pulled out and you can push it
over there looks like Oh
pretty cool look really nice nice dry
not made a full decision on the location
of the rocket stove or even if we're
having a rocket so if we're still kind
of running through that that's all going
to really be part of maybe the face to
when we go through each one of the
buildings and and take a look at what
they might need some little repairs
those kinds of things that's no bolts
yeah
