Transcript of Video

Bree: In the previous episode, we attempted to install a rubber floor in the underground earth bag MusArt Studio.
Bree: The rubber floor goes on hold as we start the acoustic ceiling downstairs.
Gary: We have some landscaping cloth here that we will be running underneath the floor joist. This will help keep the insulation that we are going to want to put between the rafters, incase we pull a ceiling tile down, we don't want a face full of insulation.
(Phone rings)
Bryson: Hello.
Shelly: Bryson, where are you? We need you.
Bryson: I'm literately right here.
Shelly: Really? Because we need you. Dad is already...he is almost done.
Gary: we are working on the truck. It's broken. They are very valuable on a farm. you can't hardly live without one.
Bryson: Garen has been keeping this one running. He's not here so, if we have questions, we can always call him. But... Who want to call him and admit you don't know something about something.
Gary: We got the truck fixed and we ran into town and got our toung and grove for our decking. and we got all our insulation. it is made out of jeans material. it has better sound qualities.
Bryson: We are not going to get the fiber in out eyes.
Gary: No. Hi you guys. Did you come to help? Huh? did you guys come to help?
Bryson: You got all this too? Wow. Going to paint these washers white.
Bryson: We decided to go with some acoustic tile on the ceiling.
Gary: The ceiling usually has this grid system and I did not want to lose any ceiling we decided to put it up on the bottom of the rafters.
Bryson: Dad found an instructing way of installing the acoustic tiles.
Gary: Do you have your eight of an in?
(Bonk)
Bryson: I just thought it was spectacular...
Gary: You can move it that way.
Bryson: We can place it up there and tap on the bottom of it and it imprints it.
Gary: ok.
Bryson: It already sounds like a recording studio. There is still little tiny echo with open...
Bryson: Ya, Dad put his foot through...
Gary: Just a little foot.
Byson: Mom. I'm sorry I can't do any work down here. I'm allergic to this stuff.
Shelly: (Giggles)
Bryson: Last piece going up. Alight. It is looking beautiful. We have a little more trim around the lights and plug ins here and there around the edges. Everything else is done.
Shelly: So, we are using the eco fiber. We don't have to worry about getting the itches... We are going to do this whole circle with this insulation Because this is right above the sound studio. This is suppose to have higher sound qualities because it is made out of recycled jeans and recycled cotton.
Gary: There is a little bit of plastics in here.
Shae: That's is weird. When you stick your hand in here, brushing stuff out. It's like petting something and all the hair is falling off of it.
Bree: Oooo. What a picture that paints.
Shelly: We decided to put a make on. We are moving a blazing speed and all the dust was coming up. Don't you think Shae?
Shae: Ya Sure...
Shelly: It was pretty dusty.
Shae: There is actually a blower for this insulation. But , we live too far from town to rent one. And to take it back, So...we are doing it by hand. Cool we got this...
Bree: The guys Jump in to help a little bit with the insulation. Everyone comes up with their own unique way of busting up that insulation.
Gary: This is our tool to sculpting And putting cob up. Trowel.
Shae: And then I scratch at it. It gets...It is a lot faster than tools or Really anything.
Bryson: I think I found the best to break up the insulation. You can do a half of bag at a time. You put it in there and chop the top with your hand. Slam it in to the ground. You can break the whole thing with a couple of hits...half of bag at a time.
Gary: Everybody had to work to begin with...with the insulation so we could get someplace to put...
Bryson: Boards down..
Gary: Ya right. We had to get the OSB down. 3, 4, 5 in the field and here around these edges...
Shelly: Normally now, after we get the roof done, we would do the outside before we would come inside. The floor just had the joist in it. It has been a concern someone might get hurt on this project. It was a reason we did not have anybody help us.
Gary: To walk on it is great. Nice and solid.
Gary: We are good. We are ready to screw that on down. I will saw this off...
Bryson: Alright. It is not quite in all the way. Dad is caulking the one board we are going to put in right now. Look at that window. That looks so cool. That looks really nice. It is almost complete.
Shelly: We are done with this aren't we Shae?
Shae: Oh Yes we are done with the insulation.
Shelly: Awesome.
Bryson: We are putting some adhesive on the floor here. So that when we put the board on, it would adhere it down to the floor. the floor boards at least. So it do not move around. Have you ever walked on a floor and it squeaks. This will help prevent that. We are also using screws really close together. We are using a lot of screws. The floor feels solid because of it.
Gary: There is a big difference between a floor down in a square room using square materials. We are trying to put a square peg in a round hole. It did make for some interesting cuts. It was a lot of fun.
Bryson: Last piece. Put this screw in and we are done.
Gary: You may remembered we put glass blocks in the floor. I got concerned about them getting broken so we decided to put OSB over them.
Shelly: That is great Gary. Now we have something to ...
Bryson: ooooop
Shelly: trip on. Hehehe.
Bryson: Can we let the dogs in now.
Shelly: sure.
Bryson: Come in. Diesel...
Gary: I'm going to dance on this floor...My baby and me.
Shelly: And now that the floor is done, we will zip outside and finish up
Bree: Stay tuned for next time as we continue building the MusArt Studio. One more reminder, we are going to be doing that lifestream podcast this coming Wednesday at 6 pm Pacific. Hope to see you there. And have a wonderful week.
All Thank you.
Shae: Please consider supporting us on Patreon.
Shelly: There are blowers you can use for this stuff but you can also do this. Which is unbelievably fun.
Bree: That's very funny. I am not feeling very funny right now.
Shae: Our family moved from the city to the country. Thanks for taking part in our adventure.
We have new videos every Friday evening. If you’d like to help us out, you can like this video, share it, subscribe or support us on Patreon. See the links in the description.
Bryson: ...the outside.
Gary: Let me get this hair. It was falling in your face....Safety first.
Shelly: Ok ...um...
Shae: Nice one Dad. No smile no nothing.
Gary: I was suppose to smile?
Shae: Ya. you are in front of the camera. you know...fake happy...fake happy. Quick.
